台灣縱貫越嶺步道第四段（鎮中段）的起點位於鎮西堡處，經過神木區之後進入雪霸國家公園。穿過公園的登山線從北到南包含著名的大霸線、聖稜線與雪山西稜線。此段最後在德基水庫附近中橫公路結束。
這段是縱嶺步道最長、最高的路線之一，依現行登山規定必須要有團體才能走，且出發前一個月需申請入園證與入山證。
Section 4 (or the Zhenzhong Section 鎮中段) of the Taiwan Peak-to-Peak Trail 台灣縱貫越嶺步道 begins at the Zhenxibao 鎮西堡 and passes through Shei-Pa National Park 雪霸國家公園, linking many of its well-known mountaineering routes, including the Daba Route 大霸線, Holy Ridge Route 聖稜線, and Xueshan West Ridge Route 雪山西稜線. The section ends at the old Central Cross-Island Highway 中橫公路 near Deji Reservoir 德基水庫.
It is the longest and one of the highest sections of the TPTPT 縱嶺步道, can only be completed in groups, and relevant park entry permits 入園證 and mountain entry permits 入山證 must be obtained beforehand.
